A car stolen Monday in New York City was recovered Tuesday morning in Rye, in a police pursuit that led to four arrests. None of the four suspects arrested are Rye residents.
When the vehicle entered Rye on Tuesday morning, police dogs, a helicopter, and several police agencies from neighboring communities assisted Rye PD in the apprehension of suspects. Two men and two women were in the vehicle, which crashed off Boston Post Road.
“Thanks to the other police agencies who stepped in and helped us set up a perimeter and to our Real-Time Crime Center for always assisting us in incidents like this,” said Rye PD Detective Sergeant Chris Salguero.

At 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, police posted an update that all suspects were arrested and that there was no longer a threat to the community. The final suspect was apprehended near West Med Rye at 1 Theall Road.
