Rye Boys and Girls Soccer Teams Both Reach State Championship Game
Rye’s boys and girls soccer teams will both play for state championships Sunday.
The Garnet girls remained undefeated with a 5-0 win over Schalmont on Saturday, and the boys beat Glens Falls 4-0.
It’s the first time since at least 2000 one school’s boys and girls soccer teams both reached New York’s Class A championship game. The last school to win both Class A titles in the same year was Shenendehowa in 1992.

The Rye boys (19-1-3) have outscored their past four playoff opponents by a combined margin of 19-0 and face East Aurora (20-2) at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Rye’s girls (21-0-3) have allowed just six goals all season entering their final game at 3 p.m. Sunday against Aquinas Institute (20-1).
