Rye football got it done in the Dome.
The Garnets completed a perfect 2025 season with a 28-14 state championship victory against Brighton tonight in Syracuse.
The state title is the fifth in the past 20 years for Rye, but in many ways, the special season was one of firsts. The Garnets went 14-0, setting a school record for wins in a season. The championship is also Rye’s first against Class A competition, after winning Class B titles in 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2023.

Individually, seniors Carson Miller and Henry Shoemaker added to their school- and section-record statistical totals, connecting for three touchdowns from 8, 18, and 68 yards.
For longtime coach Dino Garr, the win was No. 375, the most in New York high school football history. Tonight, Rye became the fifth school in the state with five or more state championships, all during Garr’s legendary tenure.
