Rye Girls Win Third-Straight Section Title
For the third year in a row, the Rye girls soccer team won the section championship.
The third-seeded Garnets beat No. 1 seed Pleasantville 2-0 in Sunday's title game, dominating possession against the previously undefeated Panthers, who end their season 16-1.

Junior Jillian DeSanto and senior Clare Nemsick scored Rye's goals, both assisted by freshman Harkin Brown.
Rye (17-0-3) carries a 13-game win streak into the New York state Class A tournament. The Garnets have a quick turnaround, facing Section 9 champion Our Lady of Lourdes at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Walkill High School.
With a win, Rye will advance to the state quarterfinals, with hopes of winning a second state championship in a three-year span.
